Throughout 2016, the Board supported the Northern Rhode Island Food Pantry.  This emergency food pantry assists close to 200 families in the Northern RI area each month and provides vital services to the most vulnerable in our community.  The Board conducted the "Great Food Drive", collecting over 1,100 pounds of food and also held a fundraiser to benefit the Northern RI Food Pantry.  The proceeds were presented at the Board's Annual Meeting on 9/22/2016.  The Board is pleased to announce that we will once again be supporting the Northern RI Food Pantry throughout 2017.


 1500 presentation to Cumberland Lincoln Boys and Girls Club 9 24 2015

On 9/24/2015, the Northern Rhode Island Board of REALTORS® presented a check in the amount of $1500 to Cumberland-Lincoln Boys & Girls Club, bringing our year-end total to $2,000.  The proceeds were raised at the Board's Charity Bowl in August 2015.  2015 Board President, Ryan Antrop selected the group as the President's Charity citing the valuable after-school and athletic programs the Boys & Girls Club operates for area residents.  In attendance at the check presentation were Left to Right: President Ryan Antrop; Gary Rebello, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club and Joe Gonsalves, Chief Operating Officer for the Boys & Girls Club.


BOARD DELIVERS BACKPACKS TO WOONSOCKET HEAD START

On September 22, 2015, the Northern Rhode Island Board of REALTORS® presented 190 Backpacks to Woonsocket Head Start. A Backpack Drive was held during a Charity Bowl Fundraising Event. The Northern Rhode Island Board of REALTORS® Charitable Works Committee Chair, Debby Smith coordinated with City of Woonsocket Director of Human Resources, Linda Plays, to determine the amount of backpacks needed for the children of the Woonsocket Head Start program. In attendance for the delivery of the backpacks were: NRIBR Chief Executive Officer Donna Andrews, Charitable Works Committee members – Debby Smith and Pete Dufresne, 2015 NRIBR President Ryan Antrop, NRIBR Director and also a Councilman of Woonsocket Garrett Mancieri, Wonnsocket Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt, Director of HR for City of Woonsocket Linda Plays and Executive Director of Head Start Mary Var.

2017 Scholarships Awarded 4/20/2017:  NRIBR awarded a $1,000 scholarship each to Seniors Kailey Brodeur (Cumberland) and Matthew Mardo (Lincoln). For over 30 years, the Board has distributed a scholarship to high-performing High School Seniors (or those with one year remaining of college) in the Northern RI area to assist them in their quest for higher education.  Kailey will be a pre-med student while Matthew will begin his studies as a neuroscientist.

2016 Scholarships Awarded 5/19/2016:  NRIBR distributed a $1,000 scholarship each to Seniors  Vivian Tian and Erick Schlicht (not pictured).  The Board has been assisting deserving High School Seniors or those with one year remaining of college for 12 years through its annual scholarship program.

2015 Scholarships Awarded 5/21/2015:
  The Northern Rhode Island Board distributed a $1,000 scholarship each to Seniors Jonathan Blanchette of Mount Saint Charles Academy and Noelle Sweder of Woonsocket High School.

2014 Scholarships Awarded 5/20/2014:  The Northern Rhode Island Board distributed a $1,000 scholarship each to Senior Kerry Connnolly of Cumberland High School and Senior Ben Garneau of Lincoln High School.

The deadline for our 2018 Scholarship Applications will be 3/31/2018.  The application and guidelines will be posted here by 1/31/2018.
